Artist's Description

Sunset at the McPhaul bridge over the Gila River, also known as the Yuma Bridge to Nowhere. The bridge is a steel truss bridge with a wood deck. Due to concerns for it’s viability, this bridge supported US Route 95 until a bypass route was built with a new bridge over the Gila River. In 1995, the bypass bridge was destroyed due to flash flooding, while the original bridge remains intact.
